letter to the VC

15th of march 2013, University of Benin. Ekehuan campus. Nelson Mandela(male undergraduate) hostel.
so there i was, minding my own business, washing my dirty clothes whilst listening to music when two so called potters approached my block doing their normal and yet irritating rounds in rooms survey. checking for students using hot plate, 'misuse' of louvers, curtains, and a whole lot of habits we've been force to kill due to someones extreme desire to exercise power that in my very presence witnessed how they asked a 400 level student of mass communication not to wash plate outside. the insanity struck me like a vision of Obasanjo rapping at the World Music Awards,it felt like i was being Punk'd on MTV cause the lucidity is one which i will probably never be able to draw comparison to.
This whole issues started bout a year ago when the university noticed that the students in Ekehuan campus do not pay their hostel fees which in all truism is not far fetched.but i beg for some justification, in my first year(last year) i fell into the hands of done hostile 200 level students who refused to leave my corner(space) and to the neglect of the then porter i had to sleep in the schools common room for not less than 3 weeks after which i stayed with 7 other students in a room where i later found out that i was the only legal occupant after paying my school fees and every unnecessary fee including 500 naira to that same porter who couldn't do anything for '' recharge card'' well to cut the story short,i suffered.
The problem? it took the University so long a time to see its faults and two, when did fighting tooth and nail with students in issues involving their welfare ever work? *smh* just hope they can't finish what they've started cause we might just wake up to a headline like -uniben students go on rampage as many lose their lives-
Morale of the story, students are vexed, the admin staff members are corrupt and overpowered; Uniben is in chaos. Aluta Continua.
